VS alum John Lippmann graduates from Law Enforcement Academy

Former Vinton-Shellsburg Viking and Vinton resident John W.D. Lippmann graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy on April 16.  His Class, the 267th Basic Unit, completed its 14-week training at the ILEA’s Camp Dodge, in Johnston on April 14; graduation took place at the Iowa National Guard Freedom Center.

Greta Geiken retires from VPRD

At age 85, it's now retirement time for Greta Geiken. The Vinton Parks and Rec Department staff joined director Brad Barker at the Rec Center on Friday for a small party for Greta, who began working there around 1998.
